BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Works under the general supervision of the Installation N9 with guidance from NRSW N92 and is responsible for the supervising, planning, coordinating and managing the day-today operations of the golf pro shop, driving range, golf cart rentals, cart storage, starters, course marshals, club rentals, resale operations, tournament play and special events. The position is responsible for the development and enforcement of regulations governing the Golf Program.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Three years of specialized experience in a Golf Pro Shop environment.

. Must be a PGA Class A member in good standing with the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of America.

. Must attend meetings and seminars to maintain a Class "A" status. The incumbent must possess an extensive and detailed knowledge golf pro shop operations, principles and practices.

. Must have knowledge of golf equipment and apparel.

. Knowledge and ability of inventory procedures and controls.

. Ability and knowledge of merchandise and visual displays.

. Knowledge in the principles of accounting, budget preparation, forecast needs and financial management.

. Ability to plan, assigns and supervises subordinate employees.

. Ability to maintain reports and records.

. Must be able to work independently and make sound decisions and judgment based upon facts.

. Must have acquired appropriate experience and training which clearly shows the possession of necessary skills, knowledge and the ability to effectively perform the duties of the position.

. Must be able to make favorable personnel contacts with all levels of management personnel, operating officials and department personnel.

. Must have extensive experience in a supervisory capacity and have leadership ability to be able to influence the actions of others in obtaining cooperation and assistance to meet the mission of the Golf Operations Division.

. Must be able to encourage the maximum number of personnel to participate in MWR golf programs.

. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

. Ability to communicate effectively with others. The incumbent works with fellow Golf Operation Managers in the Region, which include visiting each site to include meetings, review of programs and course inspections.

. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms
